HOME OF THE WGSA, THE WAUPUN WARRIORS, AMERICAN LEGION POST 210
This past Sunday, at our annual Warrior Alumni Day, we honored Dwaine Vande Berg with our Legacy Award. Dwaine has spent the last 25 years umpiring with WGSA and the Waupun community! He has made so many of our tournaments and league games possible with his dedication and willingness to help out on short notice. Well, he surprised everyone on Sunday when he chose to make his own announcement after receiving his award. Dwaine presented board member Josh Navis with a donation of $5,000 to WGSA!! Thank you Dwaine for your donation and for your years of service to Waupun's youth. Don't worry girls, he also told me he is not retiring just yet!

We are honored to announce Dwaine Vande Berg a.k.a. "Wiener" as this year's Legacy Award recipient. His 25 years of umpiring at every level of softball for our program is nothing short of amazing. To this day he still umpires our JV softball games, Legion Games, Fall Ball and on Thursday nights you will find him umpiring the Waupun Womans league at McCune Park. Thank you for all that you have done and all you continue to do!
We will be honoring him at this year's Alumni Day on Sunday September 24th. All the day's festivities start at Noon. Come celebrate with us and Dwaine.

As with any youth program, we need parent participation to have a successful program. The main need for our summer program is volunteers to help in the concession stand. Families are responsible for only 2 HOURS (1shift) PER PLAYER this year. Yes that's correct, only 1 shift per player in the concession stand! We will be using a new program this year that is part of our website. It is called DIBS and can be found on the home page of our website. You can also follow this link to sign up. https://www.waupunsoftball.com/dib_sessions
There is no buyout option. Eclipse families are NOT exempt. If your child is playing in the rec league you are responsible for the 2 hours per player. If you do not complete your hours there will be a $100 penalty assessed and your child will not be allowed to play again until that is paid!
This comes up every year so I will answer it now. ONLY the head coach and official designated assistant coach receive credit for volunteer hours. We appreciate all the help that other parents provide during games and practices and it is needed but it is impossible for us to keep track of and count those as volunteer hours. Also, make sure you sign in and record your hours when you work them. This is how we verify that you actually showed up and volunteered.
Thank you all in advance for fulfilling your hours. We are a volunteer organization and can not function without the help of our parents. It is only due to our concession stand that we can keep registration fees as low as they are.
THANK YOU EVERYONE AND SEE YOU AT THE DIAMONDS!
