HOME OF THE WGSA AND THE WAUPUN WARRIORS
Welcome to the home of Waupun Girls Softball Association. WGSA is an independent, non-profit organization that is committed to providing the game of fastpitch softball to the youth of Waupun, Wisconsin and surrounding communities. We organize and operate both a recreational summer league where all skill levels are welcomed along with our competitive "Eclipse" tournament teams. Along with developing softball skills to help improve the Waupun Warriors High School Softball Team we strive to provide all girls with a fun experience that fosters self esteem and personal growth team play and individual achievement.
K of C Legion Fundraiser - Thank you to all who helped and donated
Waupun American Legion Post 210 softball head coach, Derrick Standke, had his first parent player meeting Sunday.
Parents and players filled the room as they learned about the exciting new opportunity. Several girls committed to the program and others asked lots of good questions during the Q&A session.
Look for official player signings and the posting of our next meeting soon.
Contact Coach Standke at dstandke@waupun.k12.wi.us or at (920) 979-7579 to get more information on how to be a part of our Legion family.

The WGSA is proud to recognize Chris Schouten as the 2022 Legacy Award honoree. She will be recognized September 25th at our annual Alumni Day. Not only will we celebrate Chris and her years of dedicated service to the WGSA and the High school program we will also celebrate the 46 years of amazing women that have come through the HS varsity program. It is a fun day of celebration. We will play an Alumni game at noon, then present Chris her award, and finally the HS team will play an Alumni team to finish off the day in a fastpitch game.
Go Warriors!!
We celebrated our 46th Year of Varsity Fastpitch Softball by inviting our Varsity Alumni back to the field to share their stories their accomplishments their legacy!
We had over 30 of these amazing women, return with their family and friends to enjoy a day of celebration. We played our annual Black and Gold game at Noon. Then our Current Varsity played a 5-inning game vs our Alumni in a fastpitch game.
As with any youth program, we need parent participation to have a successful program. The main need for our summer program is volunteers to help in the concession stand. Families are responsible for only 2 HOURS (1shift) PER PLAYER this year. Yes that's correct, only 1 shift per player in the concession stand! We will be using a new program this year that is part of our website. It is called DIBS and can be found on the home page of our website. You can also follow this link to sign up. https://www.waupunsoftball.com/dib_sessions
There is no buyout option. Eclipse families are NOT exempt. If your child is playing in the rec league you are responsible for the 2 hours per player. If you do not complete your hours there will be a $100 penalty assessed and your child will not be allowed to play again until that is paid!
This comes up every year so I will answer it now. ONLY the head coach and official designated assistant coach receive credit for volunteer hours. We appreciate all the help that other parents provide during games and practices and it is needed but it is impossible for us to keep track of and count those as volunteer hours. Also, make sure you sign in and record your hours when you work them. This is how we verify that you actually showed up and volunteered.
Thank you all in advance for fulfilling your hours. We are a volunteer organization and can not function without the help of our parents. It is only due to our concession stand that we can keep registration fees as low as they are.
THANK YOU EVERYONE AND SEE YOU AT THE DIAMONDS!
