Waupun American Legion Post 210 and the WGSA are proud to announce Derrick Stanke the first head coach of the Post 210 fastpitch softball team.

Most will know Derrick from his ten-year with the Waupun High school and Legion baseball program, as well as being a head coach for teams in our Waupun Eclipse travel ball program the past 3 years. Derrick was named the chairman of the Legion softball community that has been working the past year at preparing for the inaugural 2023 Woman's Legion Fastpitch season.

We wish him the best of luck in his new role as he leads our Waupun Legion Girls fastpitch program.

The WGSA is proud to recognize Chris Schouten as the 2022 Legacy Award honoree. She will be recognized September 25th at our annual Alumni Day. Not only will we celebrate Chris and her years of dedicated service to the WGSA and the High school program we will also celebrate the 46 years of amazing women that have come through the HS varsity program. It is a fun day of celebration. We will play an Alumni game at noon, then present Chris her award, and finally the HS team will play an Alumni team to finish off the day in a fastpitch game.

Go Warriors!!

We celebrated our 46th Year of Varsity Fastpitch Softball by inviting our Varsity Alumni back to the field to share their stories their accomplishments their legacy!

We had over 30 of these amazing women, return with their family and friends to enjoy a day of celebration. We played our annual Black and Gold game at Noon. Then our Current Varsity played a 5-inning game vs our Alumni in a fastpitch game.

Volunteer Hours

As with any youth program, we need parent participation to have a successful program.  The main need for our summer program is volunteers to help in the concession stand. Families are responsible for only 2 HOURS (1shift) PER PLAYER this year. Yes that's correct,  only 1 shift per player in the concession stand!  We will be using a new program this year that is part of our website.  It is called DIBS and can be found on the home page of our website.  You can also follow this link to sign up.

There is no buyout option. Eclipse families are NOT exempt. If your child is playing in the rec league you are responsible for the 2 hours per player. If you do not complete your hours there will be a $100 penalty assessed and your child will not be allowed to play again until that is paid!

This comes up every year so I will answer it now.  ONLY the head coach and official designated assistant coach receive credit for volunteer  hours.  We appreciate all the help that other parents provide during games and practices and it is needed but it is impossible for us to keep track of and count those as volunteer hours. Also, make sure you sign in and record your hours when you work them. This is how we verify that you actually showed up and volunteered.

Thank you all in advance for fulfilling your hours.  We are a volunteer organization and can not function without the help of our parents.  It is only due to our concession stand that we can keep registration fees as low as they are.

The Registration "Home" is not currently available.

The National Exchange Bank Foundation donated funds to fully replace the 6 hitting stations with new mats.

The bank representatives were Mitch Greenfield(AVP) and Jerry O’Connor(Market President). WGSA was represented by President Jason Westphal and board member  Josh Navis

WGSA is so thankful for this donation especially knowing every child participating in  our organization will be able to enjoy these new mats.

The city also has agreed to assist  in the install of these new mats. The cages were originally installed in July of 2015 and has been one of the best additions to the softball complex since the addition of the Dugouts and Press Box.

Good Luck to all our WGSA players as they had back to school this week
