Congratulations to Lexie Gerritson and Kailie Westphal for being named to the Legion All-star team this season. They will be invited to the Legion All-star weekend in Milwaukee and be interduced at Am Fam Field before the Brewer game on August 5th and 6th.

With 2 victories on Saturday over Sparta the Waupun Legion Softball team was crowned Regional Champions and get a #1 seed in the state playoffs next weekend in Deforest. Friday July 28th the ladies take on Kickapoo in the first round. If they win, they play at 6pm if they lose, they play Saturday at 10am. All games will be live streams for those that cannot make the trip to Deforest.

The regular season has come to a close for the Post 210 Lady Legion softball team. The finished with a win vs. Fond du Lac at home beating them 3-2.  The regional games are July 22nd with a best of 3 vs Sparta starting at noon at Jerry Medema Softball Complex.

The season has stated out fast for the Post 210 Lady Legion softball team. Their record is 8-0 at just about the halfway point. The ladies have scored 103 runs and only given up 23 in those 8 games.  The next home games are July 5th with a double header vs Watertown. Game one starts at 5:30 at beautiful Jerry Medema Softball Complex.

Waupun American Legion Post 210 softball head coach, Derrick Standke, had his first parent player meeting Sunday. 

Parents and players filled the room as they learned about the exciting new opportunity. Several girls committed to the program and others asked lots of good questions during the Q&A session.

Waupun American Legion Post 210 and the WGSA are proud to announce Derrick Stanke the first head coach of the Post 210 fastpitch softball team.

Most will know Derrick from his ten-year with the Waupun High school and Legion baseball program, as well as being a head coach for teams in our Waupun Eclipse travel ball program the past 3 years. Derrick was named the chairman of the Legion softball committee that has been working the past year at preparing for the inaugural 2023 Woman's Legion Fastpitch season.

We wish him the best of luck in his new role as he leads our Waupun Legion Girls fastpitch program.

It has been a long time coming that the opportunity for our girls to play for their local city and legion post. The past 12 months the Legion program has been working diligently in getting things ready to launch for the summer of 2023. We are proud to announce that Post 210 and the WGSA has officially sponsored this inaugural season. 

Things to know...

1. May have a player fee and buy your own uniform/jersey

2. Will be playing home and away games, with a total of about 18 games prior to playoffs. We must play 10 games to be eligible for the tournament series.

3. Regional playoffs will be July 21 22 23 and with state to follow July 28 29 30 - A rostered player can play in another tournament the same weekend and still be eligible for Legion play with their team.

4. All-Star team awards to be given with a possible two-day event tentatively planned for August 1 2 site TBA

5. All players will be eligible to apply for a Legion softball scholarship
